Very honest guys. Richard and Mike are the best. I brought my '01 Toyota Tacoma with transmission problems and a check engine light on. They fixed it to perfection. I was told bring it back if you have any problems. They went above and beyond to fix it. They even put gas in my car for me!

I had my transmission serviced and my brakes changed. The customer service and the work they did was excellent. I live far away and the staff knows their stuff and they treated me like a VIP customer. I will recommend this place to my friends and family.

I came here to have the check engine light diagnosed. The manager came out and plugged in the diagnostic device and told me I had some type of fuel leak which might be caused by air in the gas tank cap. He reset the light and told me to have it looked at if it came on again. A week later the light is still off and the car is running fine. No charge. Thank you for the great service.

I had the guy at Valvoline on Anaheim Street tell me that I had a transmission leak which they helped me determined was not the case fortunately. They ran a free full diagnostic to tell me what was wrong with my car. Richard was so nice patient and helpful, giving me sound advice that didn't in any way shape or form benefit Aamco directly, except that I had a positive experience and I would go back!

Very honest guys. Richard and mike are the best. I brought in my '01 Toyota Tacoma with transmission problems and a check engine light on. They fixed it to perfection. I was told bring it back if you have any problems . Idid have to leave it for them to trouble shoot the check engine light. They went above and beyond to fix it. Including putting gas in my car to road test it. The wiring harness, oil cooler, and other parts covered under warranty. Incredible! They also would not take any money for the gas ! These guys are straightforward, honest and knowledgeable about their field. I also have to say they were totally concerned about their customers care and the quality of work that they performed on the automobile. You just don't find this type of service very often anymore. I can't say enough good things about them. I could go on and on about them but if you need your car's transmission repaired and you looking for honest caring people this is the place to go. Thank you Mike, Carlton and Richard.

Mike saved my life. My other mechanic said that I had a minor transmission leak and I could drive on it for at least 6 months and be fine. I knew that was not accurate so I took it over to Mike and come to find out that not only did it have several leaks but the pressure was bad and all kinds of things were wrong.
I basically needed a new transmission. CRAP! I couldn't afford a new transmission and Mike and Carlton went over some different options. I went with the first option and I have to say that Mike was honest, straightforward, knowledgeable, and courteous.
Not only that he totally worked with me and my situation. They fixed my transmission and pointed out some other issues that I have to take back to my other mechanic that need to be fixed because they are under warranty.
And to top it all off, they are TOTALLY concerned about their customer sanctification. They were honest, through, and well I just can't say enough.
When I went to pick up my car they waited to show me what they did, gave me a detailed invoice, and because I got their late stayed past the time they closed to give me some information regarding the rules and requirements of mechanics for when I go back to my other mechanic.
I would recommend them to EVERYONE. Thank you MIKE, RICHARD, and CARLTON, you guys totally saved life and the life of the people I drive.

If you like trucks, cars, mech type stuff and can do everything on your own, these guys are still good to know...

If your older and need someone that has the mechanical part of life covered- this you will like.

How about younger and don't wanna have to bother? I mean no worries, right?

The crew is good, the owner is really up there- and the wrenches... OMG! WoW!

They rebuilt my Truck trans for less than a new out of crate would have cost me, before the installation...

They offered to give me a fix that would have worked for a couple years but suggested I go with the overhaul because of the size and weight of the rig... soooo, right.

Could rant for days about the good stuff these guys did, but they only took 2 days to do it all.

These guys were up front and honest. Yeah the cost is not cheap but it beats breaking down in the desert. Drive train issues are never cheap, Mike is the leader there and he is extremely knowledgeable. His staff will work with you and arrange finance if required.... Piece of advice.......do ur maintenance on your differential and transmissions. Be methodical and religious about it. 180 bucks to service a tranny is very small compared to a tranny failure which it is the thousands. That old advertisement pay me now or pay me later is so true. BZ mike and staff thank you very much.

Just an email I tried to send to the shop- a bunch of mechanics and guys that make a living providing service and small miracles... but the email, right?

"Mike,
Just a brief note to say 'thanks' again... but with a small addendum...
You, Rich and Carlton and the guys-shop staff have always been exceptional in my experience there, at Cherry and Candlewood Inc.- AAMCO- but this time went a little beyond expectations of excellence.

Far, Far from complaining Mike- but this time it's going to be hard to top, especially if I never have to drop off my old dually off again, for any other issues- in the future... it's performing on the road, almost like it had a total drive train rebuild- but all you did was the wiring harness... wow!

However,
You're more than familiar with that old beast of a GMC truck that I'm so fond of- although it now drives better than anytime in recent memory- after you guys tinkered and added some TLC... the problem is that now I'm worried I won't have to have anything fixed for years. LOL

Also, when driving between stops, I just spontaneously- at lunch- so time was a in short supply- I drove up to a smog check for my annual inspection for DMV-
Yeah- you guessed it- the test passed first time, without any issues- in about 20 minutes- that's a personal record- and probably one for the truck too- don't know the mechanical details- and with you guys around- don't have to care.

When Rich told me it's just another 'just adjusted that for you' fix- that saved me an immense worry and potentially massive headaches... and expenses.

Long story short- Amazing service and you didn't charge me a dime over what you needed to- that's just unbelievably uncommon in todays world.

Hi, I must say that the owner Mike is a really awesome guy along with his manager. They are Masters of their craft. With maybe some of the other reviews, it may be a little pricey particular to that individual but with a quality manager Mike has on his team... I think a couple of those reviews are just misleading. They really took care of me in ways other mechanics throughout my entire experience with mechanics never did. They explained everything to me as they will with you. They care about their customers no doubt. They care about the quality of their work for sure. Mike even drove with me a couple times to chat with me on how to save money with my vehicle... What freak'n auto shop owner does that???!!! This one did! He even helped me on my repair prices... Who does that?! Mike did. I know what I still have to take care of but the major components of my vehicle are fine. Mike really cares... he is a nice guy. Anyway, I know others on this yelp may say they got ripped off or it was just too expensive. In reality, if you take a car anywhere then take a car somewhere else after, they're always going to tell you something the previous mechanic spot didn't do or lower their asking price just to steal their sale as it is a competitive industry. I already told my sister and her bf! I don't know about you other yelper's but my experience was so satisfying I made this my first yelp.... One word to some it up, "HONEST".

My van was on the fritz, I called around but all other shops too busy. too rude, too dirty and honestly I have a fear of being taken by crooked repair shops & backyard mechanics.
I called Aamco 3029 South St. LB
at last minute all panicky and a very polite voice said to come on in & we'll take care of it. I drove there and was instantly greeted by Carlton who said
" Hello you must be Anthony, I'm Carlton, that's Richard and that's Mike and let's see what we can for you. They showed the problem, explained it & gave me a really fair price and offered me options if I needed. But with the deal I got- I had it covered. I got my Starter & Flywheel replaced, transmission oil changed and mount replaced. And this is what separates these guys from others: I was kinda limited on my budget so instead of lowering the service to meet my lowered budget, they-Mike-raised the bar on service-didn't cut corners & my budget met that! Cause engine & transmission parts works in systems so I'm good"
They offered me a ride home, called me when it was ready, showed me the replaced parts & we went for a cool test drive and Richard clued me in on things I should take care of in the future. I wish they were with me when I bought my used van. They know transmissions so they know engine and everything-its Aamco but now its
MY AAMCO! Thank you Carlton, Richard and Mike!
